Online booking opens for 2022 Drives & Controls Show
Online registration has now opened for visitors wanting to attend the Drives & Controls Show which will take place at Birmingham National Exhibition Centre from 5-7 April. The show is the UK’s leading trade show for the drives, power transmission and motion control sector.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, this will be the first time that show has taken place since 2018, when the event attracted a record attendance of more than 13,500 visitors.
Alongside the Drives & Controls Show will a cluster of co-located events: Smart Industry Expo; Air-Tech; Fluid Power & Systems; and Plant & Asset Management. Also running at the same time at the NEC, will be the Manufacturing Technologies Association’s Mach manufacturing event, as well as the new Engineering Supply Chain Show, also organised by the MTA.
The 2022 Drives & Controls show will see the return of a live demonstration area for robotics, reflecting this dynamic and rapidly expanding sector.
There will also be a free three-day programme of seminars running in two theatres on the show floor. The seminars will be split into two streams – Talking Industry Live and The Knowledge Hub – and will cover topics including:
• robotics and advanced automation (a panel discussion);
• automation trends in the UK;
• maintenance 4.0;
• bridging the engineering skills gap for factories of the future;
• the hidden menace of cybercrime;
• adapting to the smart era;
• industrial networks, IIoT and communications.
• safe human-robot collaboration;
• sensors for safeguarding machinery;
• energy efficiency gains in compressed air systems;
• asset management and the maintenance of fixed plant;
• energy efficiency in motor-driven pump systems;
• using condition monitoring to improve plant reliability; and
• dynamic states of safety.
A wide range of expert speakers have been lined up to present the seminars, representing organisations and companies including: the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Gambica, Autodesk, the British Fluid Power Association, the Royal Air Force, Primary Engineers, ASTM International, the University of Nottingham, the British Compressed Air Society, Pilz Automation Technology, the Society of Operation Engineers, and the British Pump Manufacturers’ Association.
