Parsons Peebles adds Taylor & Goodman to its portfolio

05 April, 2016

The Parsons Peebles Group (PPG) has acquired the Reading-based electromechanical services provider Taylor & Goodman for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition provides PPG with expanded product and service capabilities and a combined network of 13 UK locations.

Taylor & Goodman, which has three UK sites, focuses on services for the water sector. The deal positions PPG well for the next AMP5 spending round with utilities such as Thames Water and Anglian Water. It follows last year’s acquisition of Anstee & Ware and positions PPG – which is owned by Clyde Blowers Capital – as a leading provider of electromechanical services in the UK.

“I’m excited to welcome Taylor & Goodman into our Group,” says Parsons Peebles Group CEO, Frank Barrett. “This acquisition gives us excellent local presence in the South East and an impressive list of blue-chip clients to add to our growing customer base. We’re particularly happy to offer an enhanced list of site and project services through the over 60 skilled members of T&G that have just joined us.”

The acquisition “demonstrates our intent to become the no.1 UK supplier of electromechanical services,” he adds. “We now have an extensive LV to HV electrical new-build and service offering which is complemented by capability on pumps, gearboxes, compressors and other mechanical equipment. PPG now offers even broader electromechanical service agility backed up by OEM credibility and over 340 UK employees.”

Much of Taylor & Goodman's work is with the water industry

Taylor & Goodman managing director, Pete Ryder, says he is “very enthusiastic about the further expansion plans PPG have for us within their Group. Under new ownership, I’m satisfied T&G will be able to secure further success with the major water utilities, industrial customers and others with the broader offering and customer access we’ll now enjoy.”
