Linear actuators with built-in controls simplify set-ups

02 September, 2015

The Danish linear motion specialist Linak has announced a range of linear actuators with built-in controllers which, it says, will simplify installation and set-up, reduce downtime and maintenance, and deliver greater accuracy. The IC (integrated controller) actuators provide customisable settings and feedback that help to tailor their movements to an application.

There are four versions of the actuators with integrated controllers:

•  IC Basic A plug-and-play version that comes preconfigured to suit the user’s needs. Customisable settings include stroke, speed, current limit and feedback.

•  IC Advanced A customisable version with enhanced monitoring and a readout of data about the actuator and the application. Users can configure and adjust speed, stroke and current limits with an easy-to-apply configuration tool.

•  Parallel A smart, self-configurable version that supports parallel operation of up to eight actuators. A master actuator with a built-in H-bridge controller supervises up to seven slaves. No control boxes or complicated cabling are needed.

Linak's integrated controllers are available on four models of linear actuator

•  Bus A version that offers unlimited customisation and enhanced monitoring and incorporates Modbus RTU RS-485 or proprietary LINbus communications.

The built-in controllers are available on four different types of actuator, capable of delivering forces from 750N to 15kN.
