EEF’s HR consultancy aims to help companies to grow

23 October, 2013

EEF, the UK manufacturers’ organisation, is launching an HR (human resources) consultancy to help manufacturers to adapt their businesses from survival mode to take advantage of the recovery.

The Hands-on HR service will include 20 minutes of free consultation to help manufacturers start on the path to growth, as well as a series of free practical guides covering issues such as union relations, restructuring and reorganisation, employee engagement and talent management.

The guides will help manufacturers of all sizes to comply with HR procedures, practices and processes and will provide a library of resources including tips, practice tools and downloadable documents.

“We are committed to helping manufacturers make their business work best for them and their employees,” says Perri Chauhan, EEF’s national HR consultancy lead. “Our range of consultancy services and practical workshops in HR and employment law – from flexible working to absence management to working successfully with trade unions – demonstrates how dedicated we are to optimising efficiency and helping manufacturers grow.”

The new service will cover three themes:

•  compliance, which will provide companies with basic advice and guidance on their statutory obligations;

•  efficiency, which will help them to make their workforces as efficient as possible, improving employee relations and reducing absence levels; and

•  growth, which will help manufacturers to improve employee performance, motivation and morale. It will focus on activities that affect bottom-line performance.
