Brushless motors `are 55% shorter`

Oriental Motor claims that a new range of brushless motors and controllers are 55% shorter than some of their rivals and can cut energy losses by 30% compared to inverter-driven, three-phase motors. The company also says that the AXU motors are extremely easy to install, requiring only a simple plug-in connection and a separate earth strap to complete the electrical connections.

The matching controller can be commanded by external signals to perform functions such as run/stop, instantaneous stop, and change of direction. Speed can be varied over the range 100-2,000 rpm. The controllers can be mounted up to 10.5m away from the motor. The motors come in four ratings from 10-90W.
