Teco moves under new management
Teco Electric Europe, the local subsidiary of the Taiwanese motor-and drives-maker, has restructured, moved to new premises, and appointed a new management team.
Steve Porter (above, left), who has been the company`s regional sales manager since 2002, has been appointed general manager, while Paul Dempsey (right) is the new financial manager.
The company has been restructured into three main product areas - high-voltage motors, low-voltage motors, and variable speed drives.
Teco`s Taiwanese parent has invested an extra £3m into the European operation and hopes to expand its business in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
The company`s new UK headquarters are in the World Freight Centre bonded facility on Manchester`s Trafford Park. The new site, which is larger than Teco`s previous premises, holds about £1.3m of stock, with further stock being available from its distributors.
"We`ve seen quite a few changes in the electric motor market over the past few years, and felt we needed to react accordingly," says Porter.
