Rechner sets up UK sensors subsidiary

German sensor maker Rechner has formed a UK subsidiary as a joint venture with its former agent, Ralcom Automation. The new company, Rechner Sensors UK, will operate alongside Ralcom in Pangbourne, Berkshire with Ian Frais, who spent 17 years with Baumer Electric, as managing director.

Rechner is the German market-leader in capacitive sensors with more than a third of the market. It also produces inductive and photoelectric sensors and has recently expanded into magnetorestrictive and flow sensors. Dr Armin Kohler, Rechner`s managing director, says he hopes that the new subsidiary - the company`s third outside Germany - will help to boost business in the UK.
