Infranor moves North to Lincolnshire

Motion control specialist Infranor is moving from its traditional UK base in Horsham, West Sussex, to new purpose-built headquarters on the outskirts of Lincoln. The move takes the company closer to its main customers, and will allow it to offer training facilities and an applications laboratory.

Almost all of the company`s staff are making the move north and four engineers are likely to be recruited bringing the company`s total headcount to 16. The move follows the appointment, last May, of Dr Lee Fenney as managing director.

Infranor has been growing globally since the appointment of a new chief executive, Martin Bolesterli, in 1997. He has redefined the group`s strategy, brought in new managers, and is spending more on research and development. The company`s motors factory in Barcelona, and its drives operation in Lourdes, France, are being expanded.

Last year the company recorded a 10% rise in sales and profits and it recently bought the US servomotor developer, Automotion, to boost its presence in the North American market. Global sales are now around £40m.
