Balluff has developed a device for commissioning, monitoring, analysing and maintaining DeviceNet and CANbus installations. The DeviceNet Analyzer can be used by maintenance technicians, machine-builders, systems integrators and others to provide reliable information on the status of DeviceNet systems.

The device will: analyse signal square-wave quality; monitor network health by nodes; detect the location of cable breaks and short circuits; and locate weak points such as incorrect cable types, lengths, and faulty plug connections

The tool can help to ensure that a network is healthy during set-up and start-up, as well as documenting the health of the network when it is being run by an end-user. It can help to spot problem nodes and to identify trends in network health.
