In brief

Giddings & Lewis Controls Measurement & Sensing has changed its name to Sheffield Automation LLC. The company, which is part of the ThyssenKrupp Technologies group, will continue to operate from the Cross Hüller site in Prescot, Merseyside.

Fenner Drives has bought the US-based Eagle Belting Company, which manufactures polyurethane extruded conveyor belting. Following the deal, Fenner`s sister company, the transmission and conveyor belt manufacturer BTL, will market Eagle Orange brand products in the UK and Europe. BTL MD Mike Thompson sees the move as "a major step forward" to becoming Europe`s leading manufacturer of extruded belting.

The Carbon Trust has asked us to point out that while it has taken over managing the Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECA) scheme, it has taken on this responsibility from DEFRA and the Inland Revenue, not from Future Energy Solutions. FES and BRESEC will continue to provide technical support for the ECA scheme.

Acu-Rite, Anilam and Quadra-Check will now operate as brands under the ACI (Europe) trading name, following their integration at Anilam`s Newport Pagnell site. They will continue to be marketed under the established names, but each will be a division of ACI (Europe).
