SIEI sets up shop in Telford

The drives and servo manufacturer SIEI has moved its UK operation to Telford, following the takeover of its Italian parent by the controls and sensors supplier, Gefran. SIEI will share Gefran`s UK premises but will operate independently. Stock, formerly held at SIEI`s previous UK HQ in Devon (which it shared with Fairford Electronics), will now be kept in Telford, making logistics easier.

Phil Banks (above) has been appointed SIEI`s UK sales manager. He joins from Schneider Electric, and worked previously for Fenner and Flender. SIEI`s customers will be supported by the existing network of technical partners, although Banks may extend the network.

He also plans to promote the SIEI products directly to some of Gefran`s existing machine-building customers in the extrusion, injection moulding and brewing industries.
