New maintenance show creates `one-stop shop` for UK engineers

07 June, 2007

A new show, the Plant and Works Exhibition (PWE), is joining the line-up for next April`s engineering mega-event at the Birmingham NEC, alongside the existing shows which include Drives & Controls, Electrex, MACH, IFPEX and AirTech.

The new show is being launched following the recent acquisition of Plant & Works Engineering magazine by Drives & Controls` parent company, DFA Media. The PWE show will reflect the multifaceted role of today’s plant, works and maintenance engineers, by covering a broad range of topics, including condition monitoring, health and safety, energy management, and training. Exhibitors will include suppliers of plant and maintenance equipment, as well as related products and services.

The show will be split into three main categories: core maintenance products and services; ancillary services; and energy management.

The inclusion of a maintenance-based engineering show will make the 2008 NEC event a "one-stop shop" for UK manufacturing, engineering and maintenance. The addition of PWE and IFPEX, the international fluid power exhibition, are expected to boost visitor numbers even higher than the 40,000 who attended last year’s event. The shows take place from 22–24 April, 2008.
