Is this the world`s most accurate sensor?

A Japanese sensor-maker called Technos claims to have developed the world`s most accurate industrial inspection system. It claims that the sensor, based on a single camera, is 100 times more sensitive than the human eye and can identify scratches and other defects as small as 50 microns from a distance of 180cm.

When the Neuron Vision Sensor 3510H is used with Technos` "active sensing" system it can detect product flaws and work out the cause of the problem in 25ms. Typical applications for the sensor are expected to include inspecting semiconductor waters and plasma display screens.

Technos has applied for patent on the system, which it says is easier to set up than less powerful inspection technologies that need more than one camera.
