HSE and EEF sign safety pact

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has signed a partnership agreement with EEF, the manufacturers` organisation, to promote effective health and safety management in the UK manufacturing sector.

The agreement - the first of its kind - will provide manufacturers with an improved network for communicating with the HSE. It will give them access to the latest health and safety information and guidance, as well as allowing them to feed back any concerns - or examples of good practice. A series of joint seminar and training events is planned.

"I`m sure that the EEF/HSE partnership will help us achieve us to achieve our vision of being a modern, 21st century regulator," says Bill Callaghan, chair of the Health and Safety Commission.
